YOUNGSVILLE, LA (August 21, 2024) – Jeremy Hidalgo is proud and excited to announce that tonight, the Lafayette Parish School Board unanimously voted to fully fund the Southside High School stadium. This project will greatly benefit our students and the entire Lafayette Parish community.
The final portion of funding marks a big step forward in completing this state-of-the-art facility. The stadium will serve as a cornerstone for both school and community events, building a sense of pride and unity throughout Lafayette Parish.
“I want to express my heartfelt thanks to my fellow board members for their courage and vision, much like in 2015 when we voted to build Southside High School,” said Hidalgo.
“When we work together for the good of our community, we all succeed. Special thanks to our superintendent for his dedication and hard work in making this dream a reality.”
Hidalgo says that planning begins immediately and the community should anticipate the stadium being ready for the 2025-26 athletic season.
