It’s important to remember that over 90% of our decisions are influenced by our current feelings. I had to realize that over 90% of the time, I had feelings of not wanting, of remaining or finding comfort, of wanting to find the shortcut, and of being critical of others when I wasn’t happy with where I was.

I can go on about my feelings before every decision I make. However, I’ve learned to be intentional about what I will do according to my philosophy. I’ve created my philosophy and beliefs ahead of time to be prepared to remind myself of what I want for my life. I have chosen my desires and dreams ahead of time. Those things that I want are in opposition to my current feelings. They are at odds with each other. Every day I have to choose. Every minute I have to choose. Every week I have to choose. Every decision is mine to make.

I’ve learned that what God wants for me will require me to work harder to obtain what he has already set aside for me.
