On August 27, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Officers with the Broussard Police Department responded to a complaint that a vehicle was shot at in the 300 block of Robicheaux Road. Upon further investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and vehicle.
Officers responded to the residence where the suspect vehicle was located. While attempting to execute the search warrants, there was a brief standoff, and the suspect was taken into custody with the assistance of the Lafayette Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team.
The suspect, identified as Stephenia Arabie (white, female) 62 years, was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder. Arabie was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
