LAFAYETTE, LA (August 27, 2024) – The Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS) is pleased to announce the appointment of William Regard as the new Director of Food Services. Born in New Iberia, Louisiana, Mr. Regard is a proud graduate of the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Military before returning to his hometown, where he initially worked in the oil and gas industry.

Mr. Regard’s career in education spans over 20 years with the Iberia Parish Public School System as a Social Studies and Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher. His dedication to student success and leadership development earned him the role of Assistant Principal at Westgate High School in 2018. In 2021, Mr. Regard took on the position of Supervisor of Transportation for the parish, where he demonstrated his ability to manage complex operations efficiently.

Now, as the Director of Food Services for LPSS, Mr. Regard is eager to apply his extensive experience to enhance the nutritional programs serving Lafayette Parish’s students and staff.

“I am very excited and truly honored to serve the great parish of Lafayette as the Director of Food Services,” said Mr. Regard. “I look forward to working collaboratively and forming strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure that our food services meet the highest quality and nutrition standards.”

Superintendent Francis Touchet Jr. states, “I am confident William Regard’s leadership will drive the continued success and improvement of its food service operations, benefiting students and the community.”

Mr. Regard earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and his Master of Education from the University of Texas.
