YOUNGSVILLE, LA (August 29, 2024) – The Youngsville Historical Preservation Society (YHPS) is working to open a museum honoring the city’s history. The organization has leased 307 Iberia Street from the City of Youngsville to house the museum. This building originally served as the superintendent’s office for the Sugar Mill Refinery.

During the last year, YHPS has renovated the interior of the building and hopes to open the museum in the Fall of 2025.

YHPS is asking for the community’s help in finding items that tell Youngsville’s story—things that depict its history, way of life, and people.

If you think you may have an interesting item that you would like to loan or donate to the museum, please email YHPS at info@youngsvillehistorymuseum.com and request a form. You can also contact Glenda Bryan at (337) 251-3216.
