Youngsville to Receive $3 Million for Road Safety from Cassidy’s Infrastructure Law

WASHINGTON (August 30, 2024) – United States Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will grant Louisiana a total of $24,427,862.00 from his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) for road safety infrastructure projects.

“Safer roads are one of the many ways the infrastructure bill is improving the quality of life for Louisianans,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Addressing road safety helps us create a better environment for the families who rely on them now and for generations to come.”

$20,323,287.00Coushatta Tribe of LouisianaThis grant will provide federal funding to for the reconstruction of Powell Road.
$3,034,575.00City of YoungsvilleThis grant will provide federal funding for Young Street intersection safety improvements at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 92 and Larriviere Road.
$870,000.00City of NatchitochesThis grant will provide federal funding to pilot quick-build projects including temporary access management using plastic delineators and pavement markings to create a median barrier and temporary speed tables across multiple corridors.
$200,000.00St. Charles ParishThis grant will provide federal funding to develop a comprehensive safety action plan.
