YOUNGSVILLE, LA (September 18, 2024) – On September 18, 2024, detectives at the Youngsville Police Department were granted an arrest warrant for Iriq Lewis, a 20-year-old black male, for Attempted Second Degree Murder. This stemmed from information gathered after a shooting incident that occurred on September 14, 2024 in the 200 block of Cautillion Drive in Youngsville.

At approximately 11:23 a.m. on September 18, 2024, the suspect was taken into custody by the Youngsville Police Department and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on an active warrant.

YOUNGSVILLE, LA (September 15, 2024) – A shooting occurred on the 200 block of Cautillion Drive in Youngsville, Louisiana, on September 14, 2024. The shooting occurred due to a disturbance, resulting in the firing of one round and the victim being struck.

The victim of the shooting was later released from the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to interim Youngsville Police Chief Cody Louviere, this was a very isolated incident. Due to the ongoing investigation, Louviere said no other details can be released now.
