LAFAYETTE, LA (September 27, 2024, 2:30 p.m.) – Regarding the attempted robbery in the 4200 block of Johnston Street, the Lafayette Police Department, in collaboration with the FBI, conducted a thorough investigation resulting in the arrest of the suspect, Walter Alexander, a 36-year-old black male. FBI agents took him into custody.

LAFAYETTE, LA (September 27, 2024) – On September 27, 2024, at 9:16 a.m., officers with the Lafayette Police Department (LPD) responded to the 4200 block of Johnston Street regarding an attempted robbery. The suspects fled the location but were later apprehended by patrol officers. Detectives with LPD are currently investigating the incident. As more information becomes available, an update will be disseminated.
