LAFAYETTE, LA (November 5, 2024) – A 48-year-old South Carolina man is under arrest in Lafayette Parish after Sheriff’s Narcotics Agents located more than 13 pounds of cocaine in his vehicle.

The illegal narcotics were discovered at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024, during a traffic stop on I-10 near Lafayette.

The suspect, Ronald Belton of Rock Hill, South Carolina, was arrested and charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substances and cited for Improper Lane Use.

Belton was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the charges mentioned above.
