Lafayette Travel Announces Winners for Inaugural Allons Awards

LAFAYETTE, LA (November 20, 2024) – Lafayette Travel hosted the inaugural Allons Awards luncheon today at Warehouse 535. The luncheon recognized the outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations within Lafayette Parish’s tourism and hospitality industries.

The awards, based on nominations received from the community, celebrated the passion and dedication of nominees and winners who have significantly impacted Lafayette’s visitor economy. Over 100 RSVPs were received for the event, which included industry updates, exciting door prizes, and the announcement of this year’s winners:

  • Attraction of the Year: Moncus Park
    • An attraction that has gone above and beyond in programming, events, partnering with other groups in the community, or other.
  • Event of the Year: Noel Acadien au Village
    • An event that created a great buzz for the community, drove economic impact, or other.
  • Restaurateur: Richard N. Hurst with Poor Boy’s Riverside Inn
    • A restaurateur who not only runs a great restaurant but is visible in the community and lends a hand when called upon by fellow restaurants and other organizations.
  • Social Media Collaborator: Trevor Johnson (contracted work for Prejean’s Cajun Restaurant, Deano’s Pizza, and Viva La Waffle)
    • An account that has created and shared engaging promotional content in collaboration with Lafayette Travel through their social channels.
  • Hospitality Worker: Jonathon Spell with Hotard Coaches
    • An employee who exemplifies the Hospitality that we are known for in our area.
  • Patrick Hardy Inspiration Award: Erica Melancon Fox with La Maison Creole De Freetown
    • Named for former LCVC Board Member Patrick Hardy, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. This award is for someone highly involved and who gives back their time to improving our community through tourism.
