LAFAYETTE, LA (November 26, 2024) – As Black Friday shopping kicks off on Thursday, November 28th, and continues through Friday, the Lafayette Police Department (LPD) is committed to ensuring the safety and security of residents and visitors.

Recognizing the potential for increased traffic and criminal activity during this busy shopping season, LPD will deploy additional officers to patrol shopping centers and coordinate with local businesses actively. The goal is to deter and respond to potential incidents, creating a safe environment for everyone to enjoy the holiday festivities.

To help keep yourself safe, shoppers are advised to:

  • Park in well-lit areas.
  • Keep valuables out of sight.
  • Remain vigilant of your surroundings.
  • Report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.

The Lafayette Police Department remains dedicated to keeping our community safe during this holiday season.
