LAFAYETTE, LA (December 17, 2024) – Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department announces the extension of the closure of the southbound exterior lane and shoulder in the 1100 block of Johnston Street, just north of University Avenue. The closure began on Monday, December 2, 2024, and will remain in effect through Friday, January 31, 2024.

The closure is necessary to facilitate work on the Downtown Drainage Inlet Replacement Project. Southern Constructors are performing improvements to the drainage catch basin in the area.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zone, expect delays, and consider alternate routes, if possible.

LAFAYETTE, LA (November 26, 2024) – Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department announces the closure of the southbound exterior lane and shoulder in the 1100 block of Johnston Street, just north of University Avenue. The closure is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 2, 2024, and will remain in effect through Friday, December 20, 2024.

The closure is necessary to facilitate work on the Downtown Drainage Inlet Replacement Project. Southern Constructors will improve the drainage catch basin in the area.
