LAFAYETTE, LA (December 17, 2024) – Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department announces the temporary closure of the Pinhook Road at Bendel Road intersection beginning Wednesday, December 18, 2024, and continuing through Monday, January 6, 2025, to coincide with school holidays.
The project involves the replacement of a failed catch basin and the installation of improved connections to the main drainage trunk line. This essential work will mitigate ongoing issues caused by the deteriorating structure, including failing concrete road panels and voids that have developed beneath the roadway surface.
Throughout the brief construction period, two-way traffic will remain operational, and left-turn maneuvers will still be permitted. Additionally, Jomela Drive shall be restricted to right-in/right-out only turning movements during project construction. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution, as traffic patterns may be altered and crews will be present in the area. Drivers should expect delays and plan alternate routes when possible.
