LAFAYETTE, LA (January 10, 2025) – Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department announces the temporary closure of the 700 block of West Broussard Road as part of the Hummingbird Lane Drainage Improvements project. The closure is necessary to allow the contractor to install subsurface cross drains across W. Broussard Road.
The roadway will be closed to traffic beginning Tuesday, January 14, 2025, and is expected to remain closed through Friday, January 24, 2025. Detour routes will be in place, and local access will be maintained for residents.
Detour Routes:
- Ridge Road
- Rue Du Belier
- Duhon Road
Residents of Hummingbird Lane will have access to their homes via the Duhon Road side of the closure.
Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, plan for potential delays, and use the detour routes to navigate around the construction zone.
