LAFAYETTE, LA (January 13, 2025) – Narcotic Agents with the Lafayette Police Department received intelligence regarding drug activity at a residence in the 200 block of Saint James Drive.

Following an investigation, agents obtained a search warrant for the property.

On January 10, 2025, the warrant was executed at the residence, resulting in the seizure of the following:

  • 117 pounds of marijuana (DEA $1,061,400)
  • 1,304 grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms (DEA $6,520)
  • 1,888 grams of THC wax (DEA $188,800)
  • 1,088 THC Cartridges (DEA $108,800)
  • 264 packages of THC Gummies ($26,400)
  • 2,900 THC Cigarettes ($58,000)
  • $74,069 in cash
  • A stolen Glock 22 handgun

Devonte J. Davis (B/M/29) of Lafayette, LA, was arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center without incident.

Charges against Mr. Davis include:

  • 6 counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I Controlled Substances
  • 1 count of Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
  • 1 count of Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
  • 1 count of Money derived from drug proceeds
