LAFAYETTE PARISH, LA (January 19, 2025) – The call of duty never stops—come rain, shine…or Louisiana snow days!

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office fleet is getting geared up and chained up ahead of this week’s winter weather.

LPSO deputies are prepped to respond with the additional outfitting, multi-terrain vehicles, and chainsaws gassed up and ready to go.

The Sheriff’s Office reminds all Lafayette Parish residents to stay off the roads as much as possible during the cold weather event.

If travel is unavoidable, remember to reduce driving speeds and increase the following distance behind vehicles. Avoid using cruise control when traveling on icy roadways or in snow.

In case of an emergency, always call 911 for assistance.
