Cassidy Announces $8 Million for Louisiana Board of Regents

WASHINGTON (January 23, 2025) – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the National Science Foundation (NSF) will grant the Louisiana Board of Regents $8,000,000.00 for the Louisiana Networks of Excellence for Tomorrow project to expand STEM research and development in the region, generate more scholarships and fellowships, and enhance collaboration for Louisiana students. The Louisiana Board of Regents will lead this initiative in partnership with Louisiana State University, Louisiana Tech University, Southern University, and the University of New Orleans. Cassidy wrote a letter in support of the project.

“Projects like these are what’s going to keep young people in Louisiana,” said Dr. Cassidy. “I am grateful to the NSF and Louisiana Board of Regents for paving the way for our students to make meaningful advancements in research.”
