LAFAYETTE, LA (February 2, 2025) – Judge Douglas Saloom and Marshal Reggie Thomas are honored to have Roya Boustany join Lafayette City Court as the new Lafayette City Court Judge, Division “A”.  Judge Elect Boustany will be filling the vacant Division “A” seat left by the passing of Judge Jules Edwards.

While no formal date has been set, the Court anticipates that she will be taking office in February.  According to the Louisiana Secretary of State, Nancy Landry, the earliest date to take the oath of office is February 10, 2025.  Retired Judge Vanessa Harris will continue as Judge Pro Tempore for Division “A” until Judge-Elect Boustany is sworn into office.
