Lafayette, LA (May 9, 2025) – The Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS) is proud to announce that 32 graduating seniors from across the district have been awarded scholarships totaling nearly $53,000 as they prepare to begin their higher education journey.
The scholarships, which range from $750 to $3,000, are funded through the annual Superintendent’s Golf Tournament, held at the close of each school year. Every high school in the district, including E. J. Sam Accelerated School of Lafayette, is represented among this year’s recipients:
- Acadiana High School – 5 students
- Carencro High School – 4 students
- David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy – 7 students
- Early College Academy – 2 students
- Lafayette High School – 2 students
- Northside High School – 3 students
- Comeaux High School – 3 students
- Southside High School – 5 students
- E.J. Sam – 1 student
The LPSS Scholarship Committee selects recipients based on academic potential, financial need, and a demonstrated desire to succeed. Funds may be used for educational expenses such as tuition, fees, books, and room and board.

Since its founding in 1997, the tournament has raised over $500,000 for LPSS students.
