Broussard, LA (June 25, 2025) – The City of Broussard is urging all residents to sign up for personal notifications through the city’s new emergency alert system, LafayetteNOW. This is a partnership with Lafayette Consolidated Government.

Residents who signed up for the previous alert system, Blackboard, must sign up for LafayetteNOW to continue to receive messages from the city. With LafayetteNOW, residents have the option to receive alerts on their mobile devices via phone call, text message, or email.

Once a resident opts in for the City of Broussard group, notifications will be sent for hurricane and severe weather emergencies, traffic alerts, updates, law enforcement, and public safety incidents, as well as city announcements.
