Broussard, LA (January 20, 2026) – St. Cecilia Catholic School in Broussard was honored as Pro-Life School of the Year for its entire school community, PreK through 8th grade. Through a partnership between Louisiana Right to Life and the Bienvenu Smith Pro-Life Youth Education Fund, educational programs and presentations are provided at no cost to students and families across Acadiana.

St. Cecilia Catholic School was recognized for truly going above and beyond in fostering a culture of life, according to Hannah Guilliam, Acadiana Youth Director of Louisiana Right to Life. The school consistently hosts monthly presentations addressing topics such as human dignity, the consistent life ethic, adoption, and other age-appropriate pro-life themes.

In addition to education, St. Cecilia demonstrates its commitment through action by hosting annual donation drives that benefit local pregnancy resource centers, including the Desormeaux Foundation and Acadiana Pregnancy Center and Clinic. The school also partners with The Hub Lafayette to help feed the homeless and regularly serves at St. Joseph’s Diner, among many other outreach efforts.

St. Cecilia Catholic School exemplifies what it means to be a Pro-Life School—not only through education, but also through service, compassion, and community involvement.
