Broussard, LA (January 25, 2026) – We will continue to monitor road conditions as we go into the evening hours subfreezing temperatures are expected to create hazardous travel conditions—especially on bridges, overpasses, and elevated roadways.

We urge motorists to avoid unnecessary travel as conditions worsen. Even small amounts of ice can make roadways extremely dangerous and increase the risk of crashes.

If travel is unavoidable, motorists are reminded to slow down, increase following distance, and remain alert for icy patches and emergency response vehicles. Do not drive around barricades—doing so is illegal and puts lives at risk.

Staying off the roads when possible helps protect not only you, but also first responders working through these dangerous conditions.
