Downtown Broussard has a new healthcare presence that’s all about personal attention, precision, and being part of the community. In October 2025, Dr. Shelli LaCombe opened LaCombe Chiropractic, bringing her skills, energy, and passion for helping people back to the area she knows and loves.
Prior to opening her practice in Broussard, she practiced briefly in Orlando, Florida before COVID-19 hit. Afterwards she moved to Baton Rouge, and owned a clinic and practiced in Prairieville.
Dr. LaCombe is Lafayette native who attended Broussard Middle School and graduated from Comeaux High School. She blends discipline, care, and dedication in everything she does—a combination shaped in part by her time in the United States Marine Corps. She’s especially encouraging to anyone who may have tried chiropractic care in the past and wasn’t satisfied; her goal is to help every patient feel better and regain their quality of life.
Whether it’s connecting with neighbors, supporting local events, or just building relationships one patient at a time, Dr. LaCombe is focused on more than just treatment—she’s here to make a difference in Broussard.

Q&A with Dr. Shelli LaCombe
When did your clinic open, and what inspired you to start your practice?
LaCombe Chiropractic opened in October 2025 with a vision of providing patient-centered, results-driven care to the Broussard community. I wanted to create an environment where patients feel heard, respected, and truly cared for. My goal has always been to combine clinical excellence with genuine compassion, helping patients recover fully and return to the activities they love.
What chiropractic services do you offer?
We offer comprehensive chiropractic care including spinal adjustments, injury rehabilitation, therapeutic exercise, soft tissue therapy (cupping, dry needling, and fascial release), and diagnostic services. We also provide care for personal injury cases, focusing on thorough documentation and structured treatment plans to support both recovery and medical-legal clarity when needed.
Do you focus on any specific areas such as family care, sports injuries, or wellness care?
Yes, we focus on personal injury—such as car accidents or workers’ compensation cases—as well as wellness-based chiropractic services. Whether someone needs corrective care, performance optimization, or long-term maintenance, we tailor treatment to their individual goals.
You served in the U.S. Marine Corps — can you share a little about your time in service?
Serving in the United States Marine Corps was one of the most formative experiences of my life. I served overseas in Operations Iraqi Freedom (OIF)/Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) from 2004–2005 and all of 2006, and was stationed at Camp Pendleton when not in Iraq. It instilled discipline, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence—values that guide both my professional and personal life.
How did your Marine experience shape your work ethic or approach to patient care?
The Marine Corps reinforced that details matter and people rely on you to perform at your best every day. I approach each patient with precision, thoroughness, and responsibility, honoring the trust they place in me.
Are there values from your military service that you still carry into your practice today?
Absolutely—honor, courage, and commitment. Honor means doing what’s right for the patient; courage means making clinical decisions confidently; and commitment means staying dedicated to a patient’s recovery from start to finish. I also offer free adjustments to the wonderful officers of the Broussard PD—I know how it feels to wear a vest all day!
Where did you receive your chiropractic education?
I completed my chiropractic education at Texas Chiropractic College and interned in North Austin, Texas. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL).
What drew you to chiropractic medicine as a career?
I was drawn to chiropractic because it focuses on restoring function naturally and helping the body heal without unnecessary medications or surgery. I appreciate that it allows me to address the root cause of dysfunction rather than just masking symptoms.
Are there any certifications, specialties, or continuing education areas you’re especially proud of?
I’m focused on personal injury, including cases resulting from motor vehicle accidents and workers’ compensation. My work emphasizes case management and documentation standards. I’m part of a professional group of chiropractors in New Orleans that collaborates on injury protocols and documentation excellence. I also benefit from mentorship under a chiropractor with over 25 years of experience in personal injury practice. Our on-staff medical doctor enhances continuity of care when needed. I’m proud of maintaining thorough, structured records that outline diagnosis, treatment necessity, and measurable patient progress.
How important is continuing education in your field, and how do you stay current?
Continuing education is essential. I attend seminars, advanced training programs, and review clinical research yearly to refine techniques and improve patient outcomes.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not in the clinic?
I enjoy spending time with my family, working out, and traveling, especially to tropical destinations. I love adventure, faith, and reflection. Time spent in prayer and with my family keeps me grounded and centered.
What motivates you most in your work?
Seeing patients regain their quality of life motivates me. Whether it’s someone returning to work pain-free or a parent able to play with their children again, those outcomes are deeply rewarding.
What is one thing patients might be surprised to learn about you?
Some patients are surprised by my Marine background. My maiden name is Signorelli, and my father owned a popular nightclub in St. Martinville in the late ‘70s. I also love travel and extreme adventure—scuba diving in underground caves in Mexico and hiking the Incan Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru were unforgettable experiences.
Why did you choose to open your clinic in this community?
Broussard is a growing, close-knit community with strong values. I wanted to build a practice where relationships matter and patients feel like more than just a number.
How do you stay connected or give back locally?
We participate in local events, support community initiatives, and build professional relationships in the area. I’m a member of the Broussard Chamber of Commerce and BNI Bayou Biz.
What does serving this community mean to you personally?
It means contributing to its strength and well-being, helping families stay healthy, supporting working professionals, and being a reliable resource people can trust when they need care.
