WASHINGTON (Feb. 5, 2024) – United States Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will grant the Plaquemines Port Harbor & Terminal District $18,623,506.00 to rehabilitate both Pointe à la Hache ferry landings as a result of damage from Hurricanes Ida, Zeta, Delta, and Laura, and Tropical Storm Harvey. It also addresses critical evacuation route needs.

“Strong and resilient ports play an important role in creating jobs and economic opportunities in Louisiana,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will support the recovery of Plaquemines Port and evacuation routes for coastal communities.”
