Cassidy Announces $2.6 Million for Louisiana Airports from His Infrastructure Law

WASHINGTON (July 1, 2024) – United States Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will grant Louisiana $2,640,002.00 to improve local airports from his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

“Louisiana’s airports are key to our economic growth,” said Dr. Cassidy. “The infrastructure law continues to provide funding to build an economy for 2050.” 

Grant AwardedRecipientProject Description
$1,575,000.00Baton Rouge Metropolitan AirportThis grant will provide federal funding to improve the HVAC system in the existing terminal.
$400,002.00City of NatchitochesThis grant will provide federal funding to expand an existing pump fuel facility by adding a fuel tank and self-service card reader.
$385,000.00 City of BogalusaThis grant will provide federal funding to rehabilitate the main apron pavement to maintain structural integrity and minimize debris.
$280,000.00Airport Authority District No. 1 Calcasieu ParishThis grant will provide federal funding for a new sweeper vehicle to enhance safety.
