Cassidy Announces $883,000 for Louisiana Shipyards

WASHINGTON (July 9, 2024) – United States Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $882,703.00 from the U.S. Department of Transportation to advance the technology and equipment of local shipyards. C&C Marine and Repair, LLC will receive $514,263.00 for a plasma cutting table, and Cooper Consolidated, LLC will receive $368,440.00 for a track loader, 9,000 lb. capacity telehandler, backhoe tractor, and four welding machines. 

“Louisiana shipyards play a crucial role in supporting maritime commerce, energy production, and national defense,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding for our local shipyards will boost our state’s economy and future.”
