WASHINGTON (July 18, 2024) – United States Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the Jefferson Parish Public School System will receive $2,709,887.29 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for emergency protective measures as a result of Hurricane Ida.

“Hurricane Ida devastated South Louisiana almost three years ago, but we are resilient,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This is welcome funding that will repair our local schools and ensure they are prepared for future storms.”
