ROLL FORWARD OF MILLAGES TO BE CONSIDERED

LAFAYETTE, LA (August 8, 2024) –  Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of the Lafayette City Council in Lafayette Parish will be held at its regular meeting place, the Ted A. Ardoin City-Parish Council Auditorium at 705 W. University Avenue, Lafayette, Louisiana, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to a millage rate not to exceed the prior year’s maximum.

The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in next year from the increased Lafayette – General Alimony millage is: $10,502,150 and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $517,254.

The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in next year from the increased Lafayette – Streets/Roads/Alleys millage is: $2,500,512 and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $228,814.

The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in next year from the increased Lafayette – Playgrounds/Recreation Centers millage is: $3,722,984 and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $341,856.

The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in next year from the increased Lafayette – Public Buildings millage is: $2,185,633 and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $195,695.

The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in next year from the increased Lafayette – Police & Fire Departments millage is: $6,167,929 and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $567,932.

The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected next year from the increased Lafayette – Police Salaries millage is $5,556,693, and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $273,642.

The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in next year from the increased Lafayette – Fire Salaries millage is: $3,704,462 and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $182,440.

The current budget of the Lafayette City Government is $240,030,207.
