LAFAYETTE, LA (September 13, 2024) – On Monday, September 16, 2024, Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) will begin sewer repairs on South Washington Street. As a result, the 700 and 800 blocks of South Washington Street will be closed during this time. The project will take approximately two weeks to complete – with expected working hours from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

To avoid potential traffic delays, motorists who frequent the affected area are advised to use an alternate route or to incorporate additional time into their schedules. LAFAYETTE, LA (September 9, 2024) – Due to the anticipated mid-week storm, the sewer repairs and road closures scheduled for the 200 and 300 blocks of South Washington Street have been canceled until further notice. Motorists who frequent this area may resume travel as normal.
