YOUNGSVILLE, LA (November 26, 2024) – Today marks a monumental moment for Southside High School and its proud Sharks. Superintendent Francis Touchet, Jr., joined by School Board Member Jeremy Hidalgo, Supervisor of Construction and Maintenance Joshua Fontenot, Principal Allison Bloomer, and other stakeholders, officially handed over the newly completed field portion of the Southside Stadium to our team and players.

This field isn’t just turf—it’s a dream realized. These young men have waited for the chance to practice and play on a field that carries the Southside name and embodies their Shark pride. Next season, the first game on this field will be one for the books as we take on Notre Dame for the home opener.

To the players: this is more than a field. It’s a place where grit, teamwork, and passion collide. To our community: this is a testament to what’s possible when we come together to invest in our students and their future.

The Southside Sharks are ready to rise—fear the fin, because we’re just getting started!
