Governor Landry Announces New Chair to the Board of Ethics

Baton Rouge, LA (January 31, 2025) – Governor Landry announced Jason Amato will be the new chair of the Louisiana Board of Ethics. 

“We are excited to announce Jason Amato as the new chair of the Board of Ethics. We are confident in his leadership and look forward to his work to create much needed change in this role,” said Governor Landry.

Background: 

Jason Amato, a proud native of St. James Parish, recently retired after serving three terms as the District 2 Representative. As a St. James Parish Native, Jason Amato is a graduate of Lutcher High School and Ascension Vocation Technical College.

Amato is also retired as the Asst. Fire Chief for the St. James Volunteer Fire Department as well as serving as a member of the Lutcher Quarterback Club, Knights of Columbus and Committed Adorer.

He is married to Nancy, and they have two daughters, Randi and Rayni. Amato also retired after 30 years of service at the Shell Chemical Plant in Geismar, Louisiana.
