YOUNGSVILLE, LA (June 25, 2025) – Mayor Ken Ritter of Youngsville and the Acadiana Planning Commission will break ground on the start of improvements to South Larriviere Road from Hwy 92 (Young Street) to Chemin Metairie Parkway. Plans for this section of roadway include widening of the road, raising the elevation, closing in ditches to allow for curb and gutter drainage, and the adding of sidewalks.

We’re excited to finally bring this long-awaited project to life,” said Mayor Ken Ritter. “It took persistence, collaboration, and a shared vision to get here. These upgrades will make a real difference in daily life for Youngsville families and commuters.”

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place Thursday, June 26 at 1:30pm at the LaSalle Regional Retention Ponds, 333 South Larriviere Road. Residents and media interested in learning more about the project are welcome to attend.

Work is set to begin over the next week and will last for approximately 12 months. Motorists should expect delays and road closures during this time.
