Broussard residents urged to sign up for LafayetteNOW emergency alert system

Broussard, LA (July 16, 2025) – The City of Broussard is recommending that residents enroll in the
LafayetteNOW alert system to receive instant notifications in the event of an emergency.

“I want to encourage everyone in Broussard to sign up for LafayetteNOW,” said Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque. “Public safety during an emergency situation relies on swift and essential communication with residents.”

Broussard residents can receive alerts on mobile devices via phone call, text message, and email with LafayetteNOW. Notifications would be sent not only for hurricane/severe weather emergencies, but also for traffic alerts/updates, law enforcement/public safety incidents, and city announcements.

LafayetteNOW operates in partnership with the City of Broussard, Lafayette Consolidated Government, and Lafayette Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
