Lafayette, LA (August 11, 2025) – The Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS) is now accepting applications for the Special Education Advisory Council for the 2025–2026 school year.

The council provides advice and feedback on special education policies, procedures, and resources, and engages in community outreach to increase knowledge, support, and collaboration around special education.

Membership Categories

  • Teachers, Principals, Paraprofessionals
  • Parents
  • Community Stakeholders
  • High School Student with a Disability

How to Apply
Applicants may submit their information using the Google Form or by completing a paper application. Both options are available on the Special Education page at www.ChooseLPSS.com.

  • Application Deadline: September 5, 2025
  • Notification of Selection: No later than September 12, 2025
