Lafayette, LA (August 15, 2025) — The Lafayette Parish School Board has approved a $2,000 stipend for every Lafayette Parish School System employee, with payments scheduled for September.

Under the plan, the State of Louisiana will provide $2,000 to teachers and $1,000 to all other employees. For the third consecutive year, the Board will contribute an additional $1,000 for full time support personnel who receive benefits, recognizing the critical role they play in student success.

“This stipend is a reflection of the value we place on every member of our team,” said LPSS Superintendent Francis Touchet, Jr. “From clerks to custodians to classroom teachers, it takes all of us working together to build thriving schools. I’m grateful to the Board for their commitment to our employees and proud of the dedication our staff show each day to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.”
