Lafayette Parish, LA (August 20, 2025) – With the 2025 Tax Roll nearly complete, the Assessor’s office is holding its annual “Open Book” period where taxpayers are invited to review their individual assessments for correctness and revision.
Since 2025 is not a reassessment year, 98% of residential properties did not have any value increase. The 2% that did have an increase in value were limited to properties that changed hands, were new construction or improved by addition in some fashion or the owner experienced a loss in qualification for an exemption. Notices arrived in mailboxes throughout the parish on August 5th & 6th. If you have not received a letter, your property value has not increased.
The great news is that our tax roll continues to grow in all areas of Lafayette Parish without increasing the assessed values of our existing homeowners.
Jurisdiction | Real Estate Value Growth |
Broussard | 5% |
Carencro | 3% |
Duson | 10% |
Lafayette | 2% |
Scott | 7% |
Youngsville | 8% |
Unincorporated Parish | 2% |
Lafayette Parish Total | 3% |
The growth we continue to experience points to an optimistic economic outlook for Lafayette Parish with families and businesses continuing to invest in our parish and municipalities.
