Lafayette, LA (May 1, 2026) – The Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS) has named Amanda Sanders as principal of Green T. Lindon Elementary School in Youngsville. Sanders brings experience as a classroom teacher, instructional leader, and assistant principal to the role.
Sanders began her career at Charles M. Burke Elementary after earning her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She later transitioned to S.J. Montgomery Elementary, where she taught kindergarten and third grade before moving into instructional leadership and serving as assistant principal for three years after earning her Master of Education in educational leadership from Louisiana State University, Shreveport.
Most recently, Sanders served as assistant principal at J.W. Faulk Elementary School for the past two years, supporting campus improvement efforts and implementation of the ACE model. During that time, the school achieved academic gains in its first year as an ACE campus, and Sanders was named Assistant Principal of the Year.
“I am honored to step into this role at Green T. Lindon and continue building a strong school community focused on student growth and success,” said Sanders.
Superintendent Francis Touchet, Jr. noted that Sanders’ leadership and track record of results make her a strong fit for the position.“Ms. Sanders has a proven ability to lead with purpose and deliver results, and that will continue to move Green T. Lindon forward,” said Touchet.
