LPSS Awards $59,000 in Scholarships to 44 Seniors

Lafayette Parish, LA (May 4, 2026) – Forty-four seniors from Lafayette Parish School System high schools have been awarded scholarships funded through the annual Superintendent’s Scholarship Golf Tournament.

The 2025 tournament raised $59,000 to support students as they take the next step in their educational journey, helping offset the cost of college, training, and other postsecondary opportunities.

Scholarships were awarded to students from the following schools:

  • Acadiana High — 4 students
  • Carencro High — 2 students
  • Comeaux High — 4 students
  • David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy — 9 students
  • Early College Academy — 6 students
  • Lafayette High — 9 students
  • Northside High — 4 students
  • Southside High — 6 students

“These scholarships represent more than financial support. They are an investment in our students’ futures and a reflection of what is possible when our community comes together to support education,” said Superintendent Francis Touchet, Jr.

The next Superintendent’s Scholarship Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2026, at The Wetlands Golf Course. Community members and businesses interested in participating can register at ChooseLPSS.com.
