Free sandbags available to residents and businesses in Broussard to prepare for possible flooding

Broussard, LA (June 16, 2026) – The City of Broussard has free sandbags available for residents and businesses preparing for expected heavy rainfall over the next few days, as forecasted by the National Weather Service.

“We have free sandbags for our residents and businesses that are preparing for possible flooding,” said Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque. “We want to help them protect their properties in Broussard.”

“Please stay safe. Do not drive through flooded streets and roadways,” said Mayor Bourque.

Sand and sandbags are available at the following locations:

  • Broussard City Hall – 406 E. Madison St. (behind dumpsters at E. Madison St. and S. Polk
    St.)
  • Deer Meadow Subdivision – corner of Deer Meadow Blvd. and Myette Point
  • Broadview Dr. – by the Broussard Community Center

  • These sandbag stations are self-bagging and are open until the threat of heavy rain has
    passed. Residents and businesses will need to supply their own shovel and manpower.
