I should have run this morning. I should have gotten up early. I should have exercised this morning. I should have……
The phrase “I should have” often reflects feelings of regret. I realize that I’ve missed out on many experiences because of those words. Whenever I felt uncomfortable or embarrassed, I chose not to act.
I had so many reasons as to why I didn’t, but none of them were good enough once the moment passed. I don’t do that anymore. When I feel in my gut to do, I do. When I know I should, I do. When I don’t feel like it, I do. This morning was no different. Twenty-seven degrees with a real feel of 16 and a strong wind, I chose to do it.
There will always be reasons not to do it, but to get or achieve the things we want, we have to do it.
