One of the students at Carencro High School asked me, “What do you do when someone talks negatively about you?”.

For a young student, it’s such a great question to ask. I responded, “Being someone worth being talked about is something to be thankful for. Most people that talk about others are typically not happy with themselves. So have grace for them. Lastly, no matter what anyone says about you. You still have a choice in how you will respond. Don’t allow what others say to you dictate what you do.” My response put a gentle smile on her face.

Kindness is not just important for those that we are in relationships with. It is just as important to show kindness to those that you are not in a relationship with.
