There is plenty of value in taking advice from like-minded people. I love the people I’m surrounded by. Their encouragement, motivation, and counsel are priceless. However, sometimes you just need to do business with yourself. You need to find motivation, discipline, and inspiration from within. You need to really ask yourself the tough questions.
I spend hours alone learning, asking questions, dreaming, and self-evaluating every day. Knowing who you are helps prevent yourself from being manipulated by others. Knowing who you are helps prevent others from getting hurt. Knowing who you are is our superpower. It’s been an excellent way for me to build my mental state. To feel pain and not suffer. To move on and not succumb to it. Use pain to sharpen you. Please don’t allow it to break you. Focusing on something beyond the pain will help motivate you to get through that pain. Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
