What Separates the Common from the Uncommon is Effort

You don’t have to have the best education. You don’t have to speak well. You don’t have to have the nicest things. The effort that is required is a choice.

It’s the work that separates the common from the uncommon.

I’m a college dropout. A little over twenty years ago, I was a dishwasher. Several years ago, I was broke and had more bills than money at the end of each month, with a repo man chasing me around town. What separated me from others was stewarding the gifts that God has given me. I was willing to do what was required and more each and every day. I never took a day off. I worked harder than anyone else. I quit focusing on others and focused solely on myself.

People laughed at me, talked about me, and voiced their disbelief. I didn’t like those things, but I didn’t have to like them in order to get where I wanted to go. It didn’t make sense. I just got up every day and did. I didn’t overthink it. I just did it. I still do the same things today. There aren’t any failures; it’s just quitters. You’ll have to define who you are and will be.
