Over the years, I’ve learned that when I face adversity or challenges of many kinds, I’m on the right track.
While I was young, I picked up along the way that when times get tough, that means God is closing doors and telling me to take a different path. That one philosophy had me running from things I needed to face and persevere through. At the time, I didn’t realize that it was my decision that mainly caused those hardships and challenges. The enemy doesn’t fight those on the wrong track; rather, he fights you when you have some purpose or determination.
If I hadn’t chosen a different philosophy, I can tell you that I wouldn’t be where I am today. My journey has been filled to overflow with hardship, challenges, and curve balls. If I operated under the old childhood philosophy, I would still be running from my decisions and responsibilities. People that are victorious because they stick with it no matter what or how difficult it may get. That’s how winning is done. The easy road is a deception. Shortcuts turn into longcuts.
Our adversity, pain, and questions are the way. Don’t let your pain dictate your purpose. Stay the course, buckle down, and know that God is right there with you, rooting you on.
