Broussard, LA (June 11, 2025) – The Broussard Fire Department, in partnership with the City of Broussard and Our Lady of Lourdes will host a blood drive Friday, June 13, 2025, in support of Duson Fire Department Assistant Chief Glenn Cormier. The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Albertsons at 1210 Albertson Parkway in Broussard.
“Assistant Chief Cormier has dedicated his life to protecting and serving others. It is our turn to stand beside him and his family during this difficult time,” said Broussard Fire Chief Bryan Champagne. “We invite everyone to join us in making a difference.”
Cormier has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. He has served in Duson for 48 years and his impact on the community is immeasurable. In addition to his duties with the fire department, he continues to serve on the Duson Town Council, exemplifying his unwavering commitment to public service.
“All blood donations made during the blood drive will help defer medical costs for Cormier and support his ongoing battle against cancer,” said Champagne. “This is an opportunity for the community to come together and give back to a man who has spent nearly five decades giving to others.”
Walk-ins are welcome. Donors are encouraged to bring a valid ID and stay hydrated.
