Youngsville, LA (February 14, 2026) — Youngsville celebrated Mardi Gras in true community fashion today as the City of Youngsville hosted a family-friendly Mardi Gras Parade featuring 80 floats and vehicles, drawing residents and visitors together for a festive afternoon.
According to Mayor Ken Ritter, the parade enjoyed beautiful weather, though gusty winds added a bit of challenge for tossing beads and throws along the route. Despite the wind, spirits remained high as spectators lined the streets to enjoy one of Youngsville’s most anticipated annual traditions.
This year’s Grand Marshal was Krewe des Amis, Youngsville’s original Mardi Gras krewe, whose presence honored the longstanding traditions that helped shape Mardi Gras celebrations in the city.
Adding to the excitement, the Southside Band marched in the parade, energizing the crowd with music and school pride as they made their way along the route.
A special moment during the parade included the presentation of the Key to the City to coaches from Southeastern Louisiana University, in recognition of their role in hosting the Mardi Gras Mambo collegiate softball tournament at the Youngsville Sports Complex. The honor highlighted the positive impact the tournament has had on the community, bringing student-athletes, families, and visitors from across the country to Youngsville.
City officials expressed appreciation to parade participants, organizers, and attendees for helping make the event a success. The parade once again showcased Youngsville’s strong sense of community, civic pride, and commitment to creating family-oriented celebrations for residents of all ages.
With another successful parade in the books, Youngsville continues to build on its Mardi Gras legacy while welcoming visitors and creating lasting memories throughout the season.
