Lafayette, LA (March 27, 2025) – Lafayette Public Library’s list of online resources has grown to include three more databases that patrons can access anywhere by logging in with their library card number.
Patrons can now explore BookFlix, ScienceFlix, and Mometrix on our website by clicking the Digital Library and Databases tab. BookFlix and ScienceFlix offer more opportunities for children to explore and learn in fun and engaging digital spaces, while Mometrix helps patrons prepare for a wide variety of exams.

BookFlix provides engaging reading experiences for children by combining Weston Woods’ animated stories with best-selling Scholastic nonfiction ebooks. Designed for ages 3 – 8, this database aims to help children with vocabulary, fluency, and early literacy while building real-world knowledge.
ScienceFlix allows students ages 10 – 15 to explore science, technology, and engineering concepts using curriculum-aligned content and interactive tools. This database features hands-on projects, videos, diverse text formats, and more to help deepen students’ understanding of the scientific world.

Mometrix eLibrary offers study materials for over 1,400 standardized tests for high school, college, and graduate students and certification exams for various professions, such as teachers, nurses, civil service, and more. Materials include study guides, instructional videos, interactive flashcards, and interactive practice tests.
