Country musician and songwriter James Dupré, currently of Broussard, Louisiana, and a native of Evangeline Parish, has received a lot of media coverage this past week. Dupré was the vocal bed for a strong song produced through artificial intelligence (AI) using country singer Randy Travis’ voice. Travis lost his ability to speak or sing after having a stroke in 2013.
Dupré will perform tonight, May 10, 2024, in Broussard at The Barrel of Broussard.
Rolling Stones featured a story on Travis’s AI song and interviewed Dupré for the article.
