BATON ROUGE, LA (Jun. 10, 2024) – Today, Governor Landry announced the appointment of Timothy Hardy as the Chairman of Louisiana Community Technical College System (LCTCS). LCTCS represents 12 community colleges across Louisiana—serving more than 150,000 students and graduating more than 30,000 each year.
“I am proud to announce the appointment of Timothy Hardy as the chairman of LCTCS. Having served as an adjunct professor for more than 25 years, he will bring the leadership and background needed to ensure our community college system graduates folks ready for the workforce,” said Governor Jeff Landry. “I look forward to the great work he will do for our State.”

I am excited and honored that Governor Landry has given me the opportunity to work with the LCTCS Board, the System leadership, and stakeholders around the state during this most pivotal time in higher education,” said Timothy Hardy.
Background:
Timothy Hardy, a native of Shreveport, is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of the Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson law firm where his area of concentration is environmental law. He holds an AV Preeminent Rating as a lawyer by Martindale Hubbell. He is also an adjunct professor of law at the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he has taught Environmental Law for more than 25 years. He previously served as the top advisor for environmental affairs to former Louisiana Governor Buddy Roemer, as Assistant Secretary for the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, and as a Division Director for the Louisiana Department of Justice. He has served on six Louisiana gubernatorial transition teams for both newly elected Democratic and Republican governors.
He holds a B.S. Degree in Chemistry and a Juris Doctor Degree from the Southern University School of Law. He was named a Distinguished Alumnus by the Southern University Department of Chemistry, a Distinguished Alumnus by the Southern University Law Center and to the Southern University Law Center Hall of Fame. He is a member of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity (the Boulé) and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
