Cassidy Announces $9.8 Million for Louisiana in Hurricane, Severe Weather Relief

WASHINGTON (May 24, 2024) – United States Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $9,791,570.59 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for Hurricanes Laura and Ida and severe weather relief.

“Severe weather is a part of life in Louisiana, but our communities are resilient through it all,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will help our state rebuild from past weather events and prepare for future storms.”

$3,359,250.00Jefferson Parish Public School SystemThis grant will provide federal funding for management costs as a result of Hurricane Ida. 
$1,733,224.04Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency PreparednessThis grant will provide federal funding for management costs as a result of severe winter storms.
